The Ring Ceremony

Look at the size of that thing! Jeez.

Anyway, the ring ceremony did take place before today's game and it was a nice affair. It was good to see the team get that piece of hardware that no one really wants, but it's all you really get when you finish second place in the World Series.

The loudest cheers were reserved for Kenny Rogers, of course. His absence really hurts this team, though they should be able to over come it. No matter what, cheater or not, the guy pitched his ass off in the playoffs and rightly deserves the cheers. Hopefully, he'll come back with a vengeance in the latter half of this season.

Also liked seeing Matt Stairs come out and get his ring. Here's a guy who played with the team for roughly half a month, wasn't on any of the playoff rosters for the ALDS, LCS, or World Series, but the dude gets a ring. Do what you gotta do, I guess. I mean if Neifi Perez gets a ring, then Stairs should too, since he actually did something with the bat during his tenure with the team.

Here's hoping that, this time next year, there's going to be another ring ceremony.
