Last year, when the Tigers unceremoniously dumped Dmitri Young in the final month of the season, they lost one of the stalwarts of the franchise during most of the down and out times of the past few years.
But, things are looking up for Dmitri. His walk-off single yesterday gave the Washington Nationals their first win of the season and earned him a big hug from a former Tiger teammate, Robert Fick (YEAH FICK!). You can read the News article about it here.
It's good to see DY on the up and up, especially after the personal hell he went through last year, with alcoholism treatment, the abuse trial, coming back from the team, and then getting cut and watching the Tigs roll all the way to the Series. Hopefully, things will continue to go well and DY will get back to the player he was previously.
