Pull the Fucker!

I love Jim Leyland. Always will. But decision's like tonight's idea to go ahead and let Todd Jones let in five fucking runs make me question him some times.

I realize that sometime you have to try and gut it out with your players to show you have confidence in them and all that. But when that player is given a four run lead and only has to get four outs, then you know what? Go ahead and take the ball from him Jimmy when the score gets to be 11-10. Or better yet, don't call an intentional walk to put the winning run on.

There are losses that are really moral victories. There are losses that hurt. There are losses that are just plain bad. And then there are losses that really should have been wins, but instead they're a soul-crushing defeat against a inter-division rival that you're trying to catch up on. So, with the 12-11 loss tonight, the Tigers are now 4.5 games back in the Central instead of 2.5.

I hate the Tigers' bullpen. Jose Fucking Mesa Syndrome has infected everyone associated with that part of the team and it's killing the ball club. This was Jones' 11th blown save! 11! WHAT THE HELL! That leads the majors. Guess how many wins that is if he converts them all? 11 more! When Joel Zumaya returns from the DL in July, he should be moved to the closer spot pronto. Of course, at the rate the pen is going now, the Tigers will have dropped close to 6,000 one-run games and be so far out of contention it won't even be funny. God I hate that bullpen right now.

If you're keeping track, the Tigs have now lost 7 of 8 and are dipping ever closer to .500. Back in the days of losing 119 games in a season that wouldn't be as big of a deal. But this streak is immediately following a stretch where the Tigs played some of their best ball all season and won eight straight games.

Is anyone else not quite ready to play the game "Which Tiger Team Will Show Up For Tomorrow's Game?" yet?
